Depression Number Two?

Depression, the word alone can make you feel depressed. As we all know the economy is in a very low state right now. Newspaper articles are saying that the economy is at the lowest state that it has ever been in. Not only is America in bad shape, many Americans feel that we are in bad shape and don’t have faith in our economy. A CNN news paper article stated that the lack of confidence from consumers and companies alike may hamper job growth during the next few months. Holiday’s are the economic boosters of America and with lack of confidence from a large number of consumers, will hurt the economy this year more than ever. Reporters are saying this the national GDP will not be as good as in the past due to many American’s cutting back on their consumption. This brings up the question, what can the government do to help stimulate the economy? Government has done quite a bit to try to get America’s to shop and consume more by lowering stock and making the money market as open as it can be in this economic state, but with the unemployment rate higher than the national unemployment reporters says we should “raise the red flag” as a state of caution being that this could bring the economy to its lowest point. In all the government is needed in job stimulation, if the American people could see jobs opening up there would be more room for improvement. Also this would encourage consumers to buy and send more, putting money back into flow in the economy.
